Rebreather Diver Training
Go bubble-free with us
We have extensive experience diving the Inspiration, X-CCR and JJ-CCR - we have been lucky enough to take our rebreathers to some amazing locations and hope that you can too!
A huge part of our courses is to not rush. We aim to schedule enough time to allow you to learn and us to teach. We know there are quicker and cheaper options, but we are not competing with them!

PRACTICAL APPROACH...
All courses are going to involve a classroom element but where possible we will always take a practical approach - it's always far more beneficial to strip your own rebreather than look at pictures!

In water we try to instil a mindset of being a 'thinking diver' - just reading a handset is not sufficient to understand what your rebreather is doing. We should be thinking ahead and expecting our handset to show us xyz...

COURSE RATIOS...
Course ratios are a max of 2:1 in the UK and 3:1 overseas, this allows us to deliver a calm but full programme, allowing for environmental conditions and student ability. One-to-one training is also available by specific arrangement.

With foundations laid during good training your CCR will be a valuable tool but we know there will be questions, we're here and happy to answer them when they arise, whether that is the day after or the year after your course.

We can't claim to have dived other units from day one but we can say that about the JJ-CCR - few have more experience with this unit than us!
Rebreather
Trydives
Buying a rebreather is a big decision, many people will conduct in depth research before choosing or to confirming their choice.

We run regular try dive days at locations throughout the UK. We offer the opportunity to try either the JJ-CCR, X-CCR or the AP inspiration (or all three!).

TRYDIVES INCLUDE...
  • Learn the basics of rebreather theory
  • Walk through the components and lay out of the unit/units
  • Dry dive a unit to prepare for diving
  • Learn core skills like open circuit bailout and optimum loop in shallow water
  • Take the unit/units on a proper dive
  • Strip the unit/units post dive to get a sense of what is involved with the day to day prep of a rebreather
CCR Supply & Support
As a main dealer for AP Diving, JJ-CCR and X-CCR, you can be assured of the choice and aftersales service you'd expect when making such an important purchase.

We supply both new and used rebreathers. As you would expect, all new rebreathers come with a full factory guarantee. Any used rebreather will have - if applicable/possible - the electronics factory serviced and we will service all mechanical components, cells will be well in date; you will receive a limited warranty.

As a UK registered business our rebreather sales come with all the correct purchase paperwork and include the appropriate VAT/tax. Despite some attempts to the contrary, this VAT/tax is unavoidable and is due in any EU country. If you live outside the EU we are able to offer VAT/tax free shopping via the 'claim back' system or can export directly to you.

Buying and looking after your rebreather is a big decision, we will be with you every step of the way.
Recreational Rebreather Courses
Recreational
Rebreather Diver
Recreational
Rebreather Diver
Recreational Rebreather Diver is aimed at a diver coming to rebreather diving with no tech diving background but it is a complete 'learn to dive a rebreather' class.

Some recreational level courses are quite basic in the sense of being aimed at getting on a rebreather, this is a course designed to teach you how to dive a rebreather and to prepare you for technical level training should you decide to pursue this style of diving. It is possible to take this course in conjunction with a technical level; it makes for a longer program but is a popular option.

This course is also popular with underwater photographers and filmmakers looking for the benefits of silent diving and longer dive times rather than attaining deeper depths.
Technical Rebreather Courses
MOD1
Advanced Nitrox Diver
Advanced Nitrox Diver RB
For those with an existing nitrox based technical qualification this will be the start of your CCR adventure. Enjoy extended bottom times and optimised decompression in the advanced sport diving range.

Entry requirement for this level is IANTD Advanced Nitrox or TDI Advanced Nitrox/Deco Procedures and above or equivalent. Training at this level will retain limits of the above qualifications but apply them to rebreather diving.

This is a busy course; expect full days, lots of information and a minimum of 8 hours in the water. The course will breakdown into classroom theory sessions, equipment preparation/maintenance, dry diving skills and in water time.

The aim of this course is to give you a solid foundation as a rebreather diver, allow the confidence to enjoy your diving within your certification limits and build your experience towards progression to the next level, be that trimix or overhead environment.

Successful completion of this level will give the diver the skill set to go off and enjoy fantastic diving, locations such as Scapa are brilliant for building hours and excellent preparation for mod 2. This course (plus the requisite hours) meets the requirements for mod 2.

Advanced Recreational
Trimix Diver
Advanced Recreational
Trimix Diver RB
For those with an existing trimix based technical qualification, this will be the start of your CCR adventure. Enjoy extended bottom times, reduced narcosis and optimised decompression in the advanced sport diving range.

Entry requirement for this level is IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix or TDI Helitrox and above or equivalent. Training at this level will retain limits of the above qualifications but apply them to rebreather diving.

It is also possible to take this course rather than the traditional mod 1 above or indeed as an add on module to the recreational rebreather programme (probation hours are required for full cert), both make for an extended programme, please contact us to discuss which option suits you best.

MOD2
Normoxic Trimix Diver
DID YOU KNOW?
Whilst not a prerequisite, many divers benefit from completion of the IANTD Essentials course prior to trimix training. This foundational course really works on the core skills of buoyancy, trim and propulsion, allowing you to focus on becoming a trimix diver during your trimix course.
Normoxic Trimix Diver RB
For many, this level will have been one of the many catalysts for switching to a rebreather. While there are many benefits to diving a rebreather long before taking mod 2, comparisons are often drawn between it and open circuit trimix diving.

Entry requirements for this level are IANTD or TDI rebreather/mod 1 (including deco - recreational rebreather does not meet the requirement) or equivalent plus minimum hours. Training at this level will qualify divers to complete dives to 60m (70m with IANTD Normoxic +) carrying bailout cylinders.

The course is 5 days (6 with normoxic +). We begin with a classroom and equipment preparation session. Dive one is always a recap of the core skills - think 'mod 1 in a dive'. Progression is then made both in terms of depth and skills that offer a broader range of options to keep your CCR working. Your understanding of what is going on in your rebreather will take a huge leap forward in comparison to your mod 1 knowledge.

Dive planning features heavily and is compared to real world scenarios. We want you to come and enjoy the great diving that this certificate can open up to you. Think Malin Head, Norway, classic wrecks of the English Channel, the Great Lakes and the deeper wrecks of Truk Lagoon to name but a few.
MOD3
Hypoxic Trimix Diver
Hypoxic Trimix Diver RB
Traditionally known as the mod 3 and often considered the pinnacle of rebreather trimix diving. Successful completion results in certification to 100m.

Entry requirement for this level is IANTD or TDI Normoxic trimix/mod 2 or equivalent plus minimum hours. We very rarely run combined mod 2/3 programmes. You should be comfortable diving your rebreather in the normoxic range prior to enrolment; this is not a course that should be used as a 'rebreather refresher'.

Run over 5 days, we begin - as always - with a skills review and then quickly move into dives pushing beyond the Normoxic/Mod 2 level. Emphasis is firmly placed on keeping your rebreather running after a significant failure at depth. Manual oxygen control from depth, semi-closed mode (with and without electronics) and deep bailout are core skills. You will be carrying 3 bailout cylinders throughout the course.

Wherever possible you will be diving real dive sites in real conditions - we aim not to run this course at an inland site.

Expedition logistics are always a headache and spending time going through potential options for you and your forthcoming dives is a key part of what we do. The world really is your oyster as a Hypoxic Trimix diver, enjoy!
Specialty Rebreather Training
Advanced
Wreck Diver RB
DID YOU KNOW?
Whilst not a prerequisite, many divers benefit from completion of the IANTD Essentials course prior to undertaking Advanced Wreck training. This foundational course really works on the core skills of buoyancy, trim and propulsion, allowing you to focus on the new skills and procedures covered in the Advanced Wreck course.
Advanced
Wreck Diver RB
Looking to explore deep inside historic shipwrecks? The Rebreather Wreck Diver course is where to begin!

Entry requirements are rebreather diver (Adv Nitrox/Adv Rec trimix) or above. You really want to be comfortable on your unit prior to training. Even if you are an experienced rebreather diver, we recommend that you seriously consider undertaking the IANTD Essentials programme to ensure that core skills are squared away before you start this course.

Running over 5 days we use wrecks that are as 'stable' and 'wide open' as possible for training. This allows you to enjoy an environment that is testing but also controlled enough for teaching. The Maltese purpose sunk wrecks are an excellent example of the sorts of wrecks used for this course.

Skills will include buoyancy, trim, propulsion, line laying/retrieval, lost line, lost diver, zero visibility exits, out of gas diver…

We are wreck divers and recognise that many wrecks that you dive will not allow a full blown approach to the dive as one of these training dives might, however we do believe these skills gained whilst 'doing it right' will stand you in good stead for your wreck diving adventures.
We are all about diving!
